A. What is Man, Where Does He Come From?
  1. Body made from the dust of the Earth. Gen. 2:7, 3:19, Eccl. 12:7, 1 Cor.15:47
  2. His spirit is from the breath of God. Gen. 2:7, Eccl. 12:7, James 2:26
  3. His status is: ‘lower than the Angels’ Heb. 2:7
  4. Equal to the Angels’ Luke 20:36

B. Is He a Tri-une Being?
  • Yes, Man consists of spirit, soul and body. 1 Thess. 5:23
  • The Spirit is the seat of God-consciousness, and links man with God.
  • No animal has God-consciousness.
  • Only, and all humans worship in some form.
  • The Soul is the seat of feelings and emotions, it links spirit and body.
  • The Body is material. In it dwell soul and spirit.
  • Spirit and Soul survive upon death.
  • At the resurrection they will receive a new body to house them.
  • Animals have only a body and soul; Matter has only body.
