MAN: BE FREE THROUGH GOOD WORKS?

Let us imagine a man standing before the judge in court because he has stolen a car. How do you think the judge would respond if the man started telling him how many good things he had done in the past? The accused would argue that because of all these good things the judge should pardon the stealing of the car and release him.

Surely the judge would answer “Although I appreciate the good things you have done, I must deal with your crime- the bad things you did – and punish you accordingly.

It will be the same when we stand before God on the way of judgment. Because of Holiness and Righteousness He has to deal with our sins-and eternal punishment is certain for those whose shins are not forgiven.
